Ultimate Action Movie Club
Project Brief
Ultimate Action Movie Club is a new business based in Dallas, Texas. The company created a community for 80’s and 90’s action movie VHS fans. They hold events throughout the U.S., offer merchandise, and movie club subscriptions. The founder needed a Wordpress site.
The Business Card Design
I kept the design clean and simple by only including the most important information, using clean lines, and a limited color palette. It's important that the card is recognizable so I chose to use dark colors with pops of red. The bold color palette and square shapes represent the strong and extreme attitude of the brand. I used an easy to read font and paired it with a unique bold font to show the company's fun side. The company started on social media so I included their Facebook link to show that community is important.
The Website
The owner wanted a design that captured their brand - extreme, bold, and retro. I created a child theme to modify a WordPress theme that I selected to meet the desired look and feel of the brand. I customized the color palette, fonts, content areas, sidebars, and plugins to create a cohesive design that best represented the company. It was important to the owner that the navigation was simple so that even the oldest users could navigate with ease. I used bold headings, brightly colored links, and plenty of white space. I focused on the user experience and how users would migrate through the content when organizing the content and pages.
